A52-11 gives you a 14% higher top speed at the same cadence vs a 50-11, which is a big difference on those fast sections. No. It gives a 4% (52/50=1.04) higher speed with the same cadence and cog in the back. Re: Real world feel between 50/34 and 52/36 [teichs42] [ In reply to ] Quote | Reply.
Forreference, I'm using a slightly different cassette on the Kickr as on the bike (11-32 vs. 11-34, but shouldn't matter). The issue is two-fold; 1) I cannot operate in the big/small configuration on the bike, it's almost as if the chain is wedged against the frame and cassette and doesn't move, I can only use the 2nd to smallest cog and up.
Showsa difference in ration of 0.08 between a 36 & 28 and a 34 & 28 and then the 36 & 32 gives you a 1.13 ratio. So I don't think running a 52/36 with 11-32 is an issue, there's just not as smooth progression in certain changes.
Theyare also useful for bikes with smaller diameter wheels. The 11 cog against a 48 ring gives you almost the same gear ratio as 12 against 52. The 11 cog is thus a useful accessory for converting a mountain bike for commuting use in an inexpensive way (avoiding replacing the front ring). Throw out the 13-34 cassette and put in an 11-25, slap
Faithin Action. 11 Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see. 2 This is what the ancients were commended for. 3 By faith we understand that the universe was formed at God’s command, so that what is seen was not made out of what was visible. 4 By faith Abel brought God a better offering than Cain did.

Ihave a Canyon Endurace Al 8.0 Disc with full Ultegra (R8000) groupset, and even with the 50/34 compact crankset and the 11-32 cassette, I was grinding up some hills. I installed the 48/31 crankset first to see if there was enough travel in the standard Ultegra FD to hit the big ring and if I could get it low enough (braze on).
HiAll, Off to the Alps again the the summer and the bike I`m going to hire has a choice of two rear cassettes - an 11-32 or an 11-34. The front cassette is 34-50. The front
